About Carson Valley

Tucked away in the far western corner of Nevada, nestled against the towering Sierra Nevada mountain range, is one of the last unspoiled communities on the West Coast.

Carson Valley, located in Douglas County, is just a few hours from major metropolitan California cities and just a few minutes from Reno, Carson City and Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Named for the famed 19th century scout and explorer Kit Carson, the Valley is a verdant oasis in the midst of high desert country.

Hawks still soar undisturbed in the cobalt blue skies and the serenity extends to the ground where over 40,000 people live, work and play in a haven where such big city amenities as high crime, high taxes and traffic congestion are absent.
Carson Valley is at the hub of outdoor recreation, including major ski resorts and hiking, mountain biking, camping and fishing.
Indoor recreation abounds, too. Douglas County is home to Stateline, Nevada with its world-class entertainment, hotels and casinos.
